Our beekeeper Stefano from the Fabbri Organic Farm from Lajatico (PI) is ready to introduce to you the magic world of the bees. In a simple (and safe) way he will show you how the bees’ life is going on and how- in an almost miraculous way- they can produce that special nectar called honey. The Fabbri farm has been producing honey for three generations. The grandfather of Elisabetta, the owner, used to build the bee houses, the so called 'beehives' by using cork and wooden planks that during the war were also recovered from ammunition boxes.
At that time almost all the peasants families owned hives, this to facilitate the pollination of fruit trees and also to have sufficient honey for their family needs.
Nowadays the company is run by Elisabetta and her husband Stefano that in the time have been literally affected by the passion for beekeeping. In 2015, after accurate checks of honey, wax and manufacturing procedures by the relevant authorities, the Fabbri Farm has obtained the organic certification and currently manufactures and markets exclusively organic products.
